Every summer, UC students leave for co-ops and internships elsewhere while others come to Cincinnati for summer classes and their own co-ops. That makes summer the easiest time to find a furnished room near campus for just the months you need.
Summer at UC
| Dates | When to look or post | |
|---|---|---|
| Summer 2027 semester | May 10 – Aug 7, 2027 | February to April |

Match the sublease dates to your actual start and end dates, not just the semester.
Coming to Cincinnati for an internship?
Plenty of UC students are happy to sublet to a summer intern, and a furnished room near campus is often simpler than a short-term apartment. Ask what furniture stays, whether utilities are included, and how you'll get to work: UC's free Metro pass is only for eligible UC students, faculty and staff.
Leaving for the summer?
Post your room in February or March, while summer interns and co-op students are still searching. Get your landlord's OK in writing first. Step by step: the co-op sublet timeline.
FAQ
- When is UC's summer semester?
- UC's Summer 2027 semester runs May 10 to August 7, 2027. Co-op and internship dates are set by employers, so check yours against the sublease dates.
- When should I look for a summer sublease near UC?
- February to April, when students leaving for summer co-ops post their rooms. The best furnished rooms close to campus go first.
- Can interns who aren't UC students sublease near campus?
- Often, yes. Many students are happy to sublet to a summer intern. Note that UC's free Metro bus pass is only for eligible UC students, faculty and staff, not outside interns.
- Are summer subleases furnished?
- Usually, since the person leaving keeps their furniture there. Ask exactly what stays (bed, desk, kitchen basics) before you agree.
