These terms are an agreement between you and CampusCribs LLC (“CampusCribs”, “we”, “us”) and govern your use of campuscribs.org and the CampusCribs app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What CampusCribs is, and isn't
CampusCribs helps University of Cincinnati students find and offer subleases, leases and group leases. We are a platform that connects people. We are not a landlord, real estate broker or property manager, and we are not a party to any lease, sublease or other agreement you make with another user or a landlord. You are responsible for your own agreements, payments and conduct.
CampusCribs is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the University of Cincinnati.
The Service is in early access. Listings shown on the site before launch are samples, features may change or be removed, and the Service may be unavailable at times.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 to create an account, and at least 18 to post or respond to a listing.
- Give accurate information and keep it current. One account per person.
- Keep your password secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- A student verified badge means the account confirmed a uc.edu email address. It does not mean we've verified the person's identity, background, finances or any listing.
3. Listings and housing rules
When listings launch, if you post one, you agree that:
- You have the right to offer the space, including any landlord consent your lease requires.
- The listing is accurate: real photos, real price, real dates and an accurate description.
- You will follow fair housing laws. You may not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), national origin, familial status, disability, or any other class protected by federal, Ohio or Cincinnati law. Roommate preferences are allowed only where the law permits them.
4. Things you may not do
- Post fake listings, ask for payment for housing you can't provide, or otherwise scam anyone.
- Impersonate someone, or misrepresent your student status or affiliation.
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against other users.
- Collect other users' information, or use it for anything other than the housing arrangement.
- Scrape, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the Service, or get around its security.
- Use the Service for anything illegal.

5. Content you post
You keep ownership of what you post. You give CampusCribs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce and adapt it to run and promote the Service, for as long as it's on the Service. You're responsible for having the rights to what you post. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
6. Guides are information, not advice
Our guides and other content are general information. They are not legal, financial or real estate advice, and laws change. For advice on your situation, talk to a lawyer or a free legal clinic.
7. Our content
The CampusCribs name, logo, site design and our own content belong to us. You may not copy or use them without our permission, except to share links to our pages.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time by emailing team@campuscribs.org. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk. Sections 5 to 11 survive after your account ends.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't screen users or inspect properties, and we don't guarantee the accuracy of any listing, the conduct of any user, or the outcome of any housing arrangement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, CampusCribs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost money, rent, deposits or data, arising from your use of the Service or your dealings with other users or landlords. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold CampusCribs harmless from claims arising from your listings, your agreements with other users or landlords, or your breach of these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Hamilton County, Ohio, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and for significant changes we'll notify account holders by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
