What you'll make
Short videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts about student life and housing around UC. We're aiming for 2–3 a week, depending on the format and production time. Quality matters more than hitting a fixed number. For example:
- Street interviews around campus: worst landlord story, best subleasing advice, what rent people really pay in Clifton Heights.
- Housing tips: what to check before signing a lease, how subleasing works, how to find roommates who won't ghost you.
- Campus and neighborhood content: apartment tours, “rating every street near campus”, move-in and move-out season.
You'd come up with ideas as much as film and edit them. We'll give you the product, the data and the freedom to try things.
Why it's worth your time
- You see what your work does. We track sign-ups and posts from every video, so you'll know which ones brought people in, not just how many views they got. That's a portfolio with numbers behind it.
- You lead the creative. You'd shape what CampusCribs looks and sounds like on social. You bring the ideas, we work through them together, and you make them.
- Room to grow. We're a small student-founded startup, and this is a chance to help build something from the beginning. As CampusCribs grows, there may be opportunities to take on more responsibility and expand your role.
- Flexible. Up to six hours a week, scheduled around your classes and exams.
- A real trial, paid. We start with four paid weeks so we can both see how it works. If it's a good fit on both sides, we keep going through spring.
Who we're looking for
- A current UC student, any major. Media Production, journalism and design students are especially welcome.
- You already make short-form video, for school, a club, your own accounts or anyone else.
- You can film on a phone and edit (CapCut, Premiere, whatever you like).
- You're comfortable walking up to people on campus, or want to get comfortable with it.
How to apply
Email team@campuscribs.org with a few lines about yourself and links to two or three things you've made (a TikTok, a reel, a portfolio, a class project). That's it: no resume or cover letter needed. We read every email and reply within a few days.
It's a part-time contract role, paid hourly. It starts with a four-week paid trial, and if it's a fit for both of us, it continues through spring 2027.
